    DR500 VMX Style

My DR500 is still for sale. Selling this and that to pay rent etc. for another month until my new job starts in Feb. Had to sell my road bike etc. I'd like to sell this, or maybe swap it (cash either way) for something I can use on the road. Obviously, would prefer cash, but I still need a mid-sized road bike soon. 'Broken' bike considered, as I can fix most things when I put my mind to it.
Text 021 1476 250 if interested (reception is bad where I live).

By the way - I have had a lot of interest in my bike but as yet - only one visitor and no takers. I have been offered all kinds of things - even a horse! If you are interested, just text me what you have and a rough estimate of value etc. No horses though, just WOF-able bikes. Prefer local to Auckland.

Thanks for that. I got some $$$ cause I sold my on-road DR250. If I sell this, along with some other stuff in the garage, I can get me another on-roader DR/XR maybe. That's the plan anyway...

Did you bust the fifth gear (how) or was it like that when you got it?

was like that when i got it,mechanic reckons it just a bent selector fork and maybe a worn pawl, parts aint much to buy its just the labour it will take to split the motor to get to the gears, mechanic reckons around 10hours labour.
fuck knows how he bent the selector fork in fifth the mechanic said its rare on for a DR.

Take the engine out - then you'd save a fair bit of labour.

    Ready to roll

Can't seem to sell it - so have figured a way to get it road legal. Paper from the police, another for compliance, and a friendly compliance man. I tried a few places and they told me it was impossible. This guy told me what to do to get it done. Basically, if it's been registered before, it can be done again even though you have NO PAPERWORK.

Spent today putting all the lights and wiring back on. Need a new flasher relay, new rear brake light switch, and a few other bits, and I'll be ready to roll. Charged the battery up after two years and it works - can't believe it.

Doubled the price on TM ... and a guy came around to see it. What gives?

No, he was interested in swapping. Not a bad swap really - but it would become another project that needs a lot of time. As of next week, I'll be very busy with the new job.
