    Question Lubes? (hehe)

    Um... Yeah...

Just need some advice on what lubes to use (on the bike you dirty people )

I took off the rocker (?) cover for powdercoating and I've got it back now, but I don't wanna just pop it back on, I think I need to lube it with something... there is a rubber seal around it... so yeah...

also took off the rearsets for powdercoating and have everything back, but where the brake/gear levers attach there is like a... um... sort of bearing that goes in too... and it needs lube too... as well as the gear shift rod knobs (dunno but the bit the rob screws into on either side)...

I'll post a picture in 2 mins with the highlights of which two main parts I'm talking about in the next post

Part 1 = rocker cover (sp)

part 2 = bit for levers
I'm not a complete idiot... some pieces are missing

Copper grease is used for high heat, high friction things isn't it? Like axles and bearings? For just normal lubrication standard grease is good enough for most things?

Make sure the rocker cover, rubber seal and the facing surface on the top of the head are clean and dry. Dip your finger in a little clean engine oil and rub around the rubber seal (same as you would do for an oil filter), fit the cover and tighten down correctly.
As far as the gear lever etc goes, grease is probably not necessary, but you could use some if you want.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Sweet thanks... Engine oil is something I have

Will that also work for the card seals? When I brought the new engine it didn't have carbs, so he took the carbs off my old engine and returned them to me unattached to the engine... so they'll need to be put back on and they have 4 smaller seals... so will the oil work with that too?

    thank you

They only have to be air tight which the hose clamps should see to, though it might help when fitting the cabs to the rubber boots??
