i liked the look of it, was going to take kids in weekend, dont like Nicole Kidman though so thats a bit of a put off for me
We are planning on going to see it tomorrow....![]()
Well the Philip Pullman books knock Harry Potter for six in my opinion, for those of you that like HP but are looking for a bit more depth, try the "His Dark Materials" trilogy, the first of which is The Golden Compass.
Looking forward to the movie, I haven't seen it yet so hoping it hasn't mangled the books too much. Will see it this weekend, methinks.
Illuc ivi, illud feci.
Buggrim, Buggrit.
Right, I'll take the kids tomorrow then!
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
I'm a sucker for fantasy movies but we thought it looked and felt wonderful, kids would love it (we are all kids really). If the next movie had been on there and then we would have paid to see it..
The special effects were top notch!

I thought Nicole was an inspired choice for Mrs Coulter. Beautiful but emotionless, aided by liberal application of botox. She is supposed to have a fairly frozen facade in the book, so it fits.

The book was fantastic.
I thought the movie was poos.
I read the book first.
You're a cat in a helmet powered by a Unicorn. Your opinion isn't entirely reliable.

I thought the book was crap personally.
And I've given up going to SF/F movies, they're invariable so littered with errors they're all but unwatchable.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon
I'd rather be riding than watching movies hehhe
My bass is such a slapper.......I cant stop fingering those strings
I watched the movie and thought it was fantastic, I want to see it again actually.
The first book is called The Northern Lights and i'm on the third book already, it is brilliant. The movie does differ from the book slightly but a lot less than most movies do and when you have read/watched both you can see why they have done it.
As described in the book, Nichol Kidman is a fantastic choice for the roll of Mrs Coulture, as is Daniel Craig for Lord Asrael,
Highly recommend both.
Beowulf is great in 3D but Enchanted is a bit weak.
