Needed two hands to hold the camera steady. I was halfway up a steep incline.

I'm coming down for a ride, you bastard. Prepare to be invaded.

Probably not until March or thereabouts, though.

take that photo in August and rave about how nice it is!! Iffin you can stand up in the wind of course . . .

Seriously though, I lived in Invers for nearly a year and it was a pretty enough area of the country. Preferred Otago and Central though, and the West Coast.

But any of the above beats the North Island anyday.

Having ridden a pushbike throughout 14 Scottish winters in nowt but lycra I doubt the Southland Winter has much for me to be afraid of.

I'll post a pic in the same place in July if you wish....remind me though - I may forget.

He ran out of petrol on a run a few days ago, guess it's good to have the wife as the support team to ferry petrol now we're in the sticks. I think he'll make sure his tanks FULL next time he's out on a scenic trip.

I knew scotsman were cheap, but thats taking the biscuit! Was he thinking he was riding a pushie clad nowt in lycra and could coast down the hills and over and far away?

mind you, I thought running out of gas was my thing ...who'd thunk it'd happen to a Duck? Are you sure it wasn't broken?

Look - the fuel warning didn't come on until I took this photo. This photo was taken about 100km East of Invers. I knew there was a petol station at Tokanui.....got there, they were closed...I knew there were pumps at Fortrose....reached that.....closed. At this point I called the missus and said "Come and meet me between Fortrose and Invercargill....oh, and bring the can of petrol for the lawnmower and I'll park the empty bike somewhere safe and visible.

Managed to get through Gorge Road (it's a town not a road) and 2 km beyond when the petrol finally ran out. 87.5km on 4 litres. Not bad for a 6 hundy.
