Burgmans are VERY impressive!

I rode a 400 and then a 650 today and I am so impressed with the ride and comfort of these scoots. If I buy one, it would probably be the 650, as I want to tour two up, and am not sure the 400 has enough boogie for two up with gear ...... and have enough omph to overtake quickly and safely. I assume either would be capable of steady cruising at around 120 - 130kmh ?

These big scoots must be one of the best kept cruiser secrets around !!

I was looking at replacing the CB1300S with a 650 adventure bike ..... but I'm now having second thoughts !!!

Ah depends what you want to do. You said you were looking at replacing the 1300 with a 650 adventure bike, so have you changed your mind about adventuring? If you want to adventure don't buy the scooter. If you want the scooter for what it does, then sure, buy it.

Mate here in Chch has a Gilera Nexus 500 for sale, some nice performance mods, very impressive as well. Was out on the Senna and we swapped from Fairlie to Geraldine, didn't really wanna give it back. Would be tempted myself but I kinda like shifting gears. His reason for selling, he's getting the new Gilera V-twin scoot in March (oh and it's red)

Small wheels.... rought roads and big potholes.... not the best combination unless you can stick to the "better" motorways or city roads.

"Cruiser"? I don't think so.

thats why I brought one 3 weeks ago. One of the better motorcycling decision one could make.

I agree with that sentiment. These are "sleepers" these big scoots. I had never really considered one. But since I bought my PGO T-Rex150 for commuting ... I have learned to enjoy the twist and go thing !! It's cool! And then trying a big scoot that was really comfortable .... and could get along, and handle well .... I'm very impressed with them. Might be an age thing ... I'm not sure !! lol

I enjoy ripping down the road and having all the power I need to pass cars like they are standing still, but it's cool to cruise as well !!
Different bikes for different moods of riding maybe. We probably all need several bikes to cater for what we want to do on them ....

Whats the similarity between fat chicks and motor scooters..? They are both great fun to ride until your mates catch you on them...

Or so the old chestnut goes, but honestly I have had some awesome rides on scooters that are half the size of burgers, so I can only imagine. And as you get a little older you don't really give a damn what yer mates think either. If it spins yer wheels, then do it...

Yeah ... I don't have too much to grumble about with the bikes I have ridden ... but I guess intelligently, I was talking relatively. It is a scooter, not a sports bike.
