Why am I not out celebrating?

As 2007 draws to a close I have been trawling through the pages of KB and laughing at some funny shit that I have missed in the last 3.5 weeks.
My partner Sharon & I welcomed our first born, a son, Miles into the world back in the wee hours of the 5th of December and have been quite bloody busy of late. Too busy for KB, even though I did manage to fit in one Coro Loop blast with a couple of mates

Right now Miles is fast alseep (a great night sleeper thankfully) as is his mum and as I look across at them I feel very contented and proud to be a new Dad. Our wee boy will get the best we can provide - right up till he's old enough to work for his crust of course - including the joy of sharing his old mans' toys
Changing nappies, washing him on my shoulder in the shower, hushing his cries while Sharon prepares another tit for dinner, pushing him along the local bush walks, giving him 'bike rides' into the garage to check out the big boys toys...all fantastic little adventures I rellish each day.

I have a new found respect for all you parents out there and am beginning to understand just what you've all probably faced during your kids early weeks & months.
Well done to you all & may those kids continue to amaze you as they mature.

Best wishes to everyone, happy new year & safe riding for '08!

    Andy, Sharon & Miles.

Happy new year - special being a daddy.

We're at home too, wee ones tucked up in their beds (little kids and Hogmonay parties aren't an ideal combo).

Looking forward to celebrating new years to come with our kids as they get bigger.

Have an awesome new years, many more memories to make with your family lie ahead. Enjoy....

Kids are a surreal experience through the fun good times, and the right shite'ers. enjoy 2008, it only has to rock!!!!

The great thing is tat you have a part of you that will live on past the time of your non-living, and hopfully pass some of your values into the new generations to be. A very cool thing indeed.

Mate, the roller coaster of raising children is certainly worth the journey. All the things you've mentioned that you look forward to will become extremely rewarding and you have started with exactly the right sharing, caring attitude !
I've done all that, and appreciate now the hard yards put in early, with great 'late teen' kids who now share their experiences with me, and still enjoy participating in my pastimes too.
And I now get to do a lot of it (mostly the good stuff) over again with my grandson.

    Cherish it - it's great.

    Have an excellent '08 !!

Responsibility. If all parents took care of their kids we would have no problems in this world.

Give it all you got. If it ever falls apart and you know you did not give 100% you be kicking your self.

All the best for the new year.

May the bridges I burn light the way.

Innit great- I'm in the same boat as you with my little boy. Its odd, really, if someone else was waking me every 2-4 hours and screaming and spilling milk everywhere, I'd throw them out.

    Have fun
