Nepal bans pillions to stop drive-bys

Right! Time to get back to the business of reporting news! No damned terrorist is going to keep me away from getting the news out to you guys.

So... on a slightly linked subject... Nepal has banned pillions to stop drive-by shootings by rebels. The Home Ministry said motorcycles have been misused by terrorists to launch attacks and that "terrorists riding on the back of motorcycles have used weapons to attack".

Maoist rebels, who mostly operate in rural areas, are known to use motorcycles to attack targets in cities and towns.

That's fucked up. Considering the fact that, the majority of the people in Nepal use motorcycles as a primary means of transportation for themselves and their family. I really hope things will work out for the better over there in the future...

Typical, take away the rights of many because of the actions of a few, & justify it with the all encompassing excess of terrorism.

    bloody politicians

I think that previous post from me was actually from MotoRacer (I was prob logged in..), or I'm starting to show signs of Alzheimers syndrome..

Anyway, that's bloody Nepalese politicians' logic for you... and people wonder why the country's behind all the other nations of the world (except for one I think - i.e. Nepal's supposed to be the 2nd poorest country in the world).

BTW, while it is true that I first acquired my moto-skills in Nepal (by going splat into a wall on the 1st attempt), MR actually learned off my GN125 here in NZ.
