    Lake Sumner jaunt

Ok, any of you off road types keen to head into Lake Sumner?
We dont have off road bikes altho the Buell would do it easy and the Guzzi could plough the fields on the way through... BUT we are looking at taking the Navara in, so why not see if any bikes want to follow/lead.

Now I think ya have to get a combo for a lock at Lock Catrine ill look into that so we can all get through... looking at doing Sunday 6th any takers?
    cheers DD

Loved that place when I lived in ChCh as per these earlier threads I posted:

Wish I was down there now and could go with you. If an Ariel Huntmaster could do it a Guzzi could do it.

We took a Nissan patrol well past Number 2 Hut in 1974 as well just to be different from going in on the bikes.
    Cheers

to be honest I thought sumner was by the sea....and that lake sumner was just a silly name for sumner lagoon or that this lake was actually more commonly known as the south pacific...

I would have loved to have done this one. I know there would be no trouble with the Grizz getting as far as Lake taylor, and maybe that Loc?? I have been toying with takin a random solo run up there at a liesurely pace... but like alot of things.. it never yet has happened.

Free time is going to get less after this weekend, a bit like pie.
So hangin to get on out to the Woody and Vinny I know...

it is way hot out there....

Have good time up in them hills

yeah well, how come ya spend a day tidying up a cage (in this case) bringing it up like new... then the mises says "I wana gooff road" well you should have seen it by the time we got home, one 4x4 track became to much and we had to turn back, but with the mud, dirt, rock damage... nothings worse that the bloody cow shit, it never seems to wash off

I said we would think about taking our 4X4 to pull you out of the deep mud holes.

The long and short of it is, we can not as I'm busy helping put a friend with bike prob's.
Feel the fear and do it anyway
