I had a couple of shots of tramadol after getting my wisdom teeth out at the hospital. It was pretty good, completely took the pain away for a while.

Still, nothing beats NOS for sheer fucked-upness

Friend of a friend had a similar experience; he had terminal cancer (at 21!) and they eventually just gave him as much as he wanted. If he was going to die anyway, damage from morphine didn't matter any more.

When I was in A&E last Boixing Day I was offered Morphine, I turned it down since I wasn't in that much pain and fiigured I'd rather know if something really hurts so they can sort it out. The Dr then asked me if I was sure. After I confirmed I really didn't want it she then had a little chat with my wife to see if there was any "special" reason I wouldn't want it, ie am I a recovering druggie.

Haha I did exactly the same thing about 20 seconds after waking up from my general anasthetic with my face all numb and a mouth full of cotton stuff. It was a good laugh tho.

Funny. I have the same reaction to Steinlager...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
