Is this the 40HP model - the quick one with the sick brakes?

Good luck with the sale bro!
the picture looks the same. and it has the same fuel capacity and vtwin engine so i would say that this is the 40hp model... no promises tho

You're a sick fecker! And to think you're the son of a man who owns a CB750K0!

I initially thought `no way' w.r.t. 40hp from a VT250F (the later Spada makes some serious grunt though), but after some googling that figure keeps turning up. Even the 1983 model has 35hp apparently. So quite likely. That's good power for a mid-80s 250. 150-odd-kg dry weight would explain how I can still drag them off at the lights, however.

Good luck with the sale! Like the 10%-over-$1000 contribution to KB.

The picture doesn't match the description though (the link, not mafu1's bike) - the pic shows 2 conventional discs; the description says single inboard disc (which is what my 86 has). No idea if the engine changed though.

Yes, I don't trust those kind of sites either. I've seen a few wot call my 250RS a twin, and say it has 12.5hp (I know it's ancient and slow, but it's not quite that bad ). But there seems to be quite a few sources putting it at 40hp.

AFAIK the VT250 series used the same basic motor throughout. Top-end changes to boost power and red-line; I think they tried a few things to sort the bottom-end too (quite a few grenaded, but I would think they'd all be either dead or sorted by now).

Mine survived until ... a year ago yesterday (or the day before, depending on how long this takes to type ...)
