Young guys tend to want to drop their pants alot granted.

But can you seriously not see the difference between stunting on a clear empty piece of road to stunting on a motorway with other traffic around?

Nearly all men can stand adversity and hard time, but if you want to test a mans true character, give him power....

No, I see very little difference between these two videos the kids (or be it big kids) made of themselves on public roads. Wow, one had less traffic.

If lots of riders inspire to this sort of thing, do you seriously think some won't want to show off in front of an audience once they think they have mastered the "skill"?

One is at high speed, one is at 30kmph...
One road has traffic at 70mph, one has very little or no traffic and the riders are courteous to other road users when they appear.
One shows some guys explicitly showing off on the motorway, the other shows two guys practicing their sport so they can perform at sanctioned events.

I don't deny that some won't show off in front of others... isnt that what you see at air shows... pilots showing off their skills. The only difference is dan and kevmo aren't currently practicing in a legal environment, but it's still the safest place they've found yet.

If you are riding like a wanker on public streets, and making all motorcyclists look like irresponsible dickheds in the eyes of the public and the law... then it matters to me.

If you are doing this in specially arranged closed areas and events, then fine, I could not care less.

    There is a big difference.

It also shows them associating with knuckle dragging mouth breathers tearing up the road in under powered front wheel drives thinking they are cool, these people are well hated by the majority of the public/media.

What the bikers were doing, sounds responsible, though often it is the hangers-on that give a bad name as they damage property leave trash etc.......

If you want to keep using the spot don't let them do that shit in the cars.

I have mentioned that to them before... i.e wheelies and stoppies only.

And they are always going to be that careful?

Turn one corner and open the throttle a wee bit more.... and hey presto!

And it's not just them... it's the trend that grows and every second new motorcyclist thinks that is some kind of benchmark to aim for.

I thought we were trying to encourage motorcyclists ride more carefully and sensibly to try reduce our high injury levels... not the opposite.???

I thought it was a know me before you judge me thing. And too be honest, the number of people on bikes I see doing wheelies is about 2% of the total biker population.

If people in this country have lost the ability to see things as they are (i.e one or two guys showing off vs loads of people riding responsibly *lol*) then i'm getting the fuck out of here quick smart.

On the road yes, stunting is a choice they have made. It's just like skating, roller blading, kite surfing, snow boarding - it's an extreme sport. I can use a skateboard to commute if i so wish, or I can use it to do tricks etc. If i do my tricks and stunts in a place that pisses people off then i am a dick, if i do my best to take it out of their way then at least I'm trying to please the majority.
