Are you suggesting that after the Boxing day racing seeing bikes running round a road circuit at 200km/hr that every biker aspires to doing 200km/hr in the middle of Wanganui? What about the dirt forum?
All of these are sporting events that are held at appropriate venues. Anybody that wishes to do these things can go along and join in with them.

    Stunting has always been cool.
Stunting wasn't around much in the late 80's. It seems to be new trend that has caught on during the 90's. Believe it or not, people managed to enjoy motorcycling before stunting came along.

There are riders who simply think it is cool but dont want to do it for various reasons including not breaking their bikes/bones and there are riders who think its cool and want to give it a go.
And there are those that are not impressed and think it is wank.

Or they could clamp down on all motorcyclists, period!

Just like stricter penalties brought in to help clamp down on boy racers has affected us all. Instant disqualification of licences at the side of the road etc.... you can thank the boy racers.

Let's not let the wankers that happen to ride bikes do the same to us again.

ever tried to move quickly in leather?
leathers are designed to restrict some movements that arnt useful to motorcycling, however stunting you need that movement.
plus at 20km/h you land on yer fkn feet anyway! see the vid of the F4 coming down...

i bet you dont go around telling cyclists to wear leathers because they might get a scratch...
and their traveling faster then most of the stuff that these guys do.

Weeelll this stuff does help in everyday riding, it teaches a level of control the average rider will never have. The body remembers this stuff and it comes out in those 'oh shit' situations when the survival instinct takes over.
As for stunting being new....I don't think so. I've personally been doing wheelies and shit on the road since the early 80's, and if ya search the net you'll sure as shit find pics from the 70's and even earlier. It's far from new.
Closed areas? Try to find somewhere that'll let ya do it for a couple of hours one weekend without charging a fortune. And there's no real difference to crashing on a quiet street to crashing at a track, it still goes down as a bike crash in the stats.
Y'know, I really don't get it, motorcycles are all about rebellion, not fitting in, they always have been, yet these guys get bagged because they do something that's 'not safe'.....'not legal' etc. Motorcycling survived the gangs of the 70's, it'll survive a few stunters. More people still die boating, and more get injured playing rugby.
FFS go buy a white electric car would ya's....before someone thinks you don't conform.

Here here, the throttle control required comes in well handy when the rear steps out, stoppies teach us not to shit our pants when cars pull out.

This thread is more of a wank whinge by hypocryts than most.

Stop bitching and go learn wheelies, but remember they are not big or clever, and boozers are loosers.

I love it when people assume what you have said rather than read it......

Most cyclists are not practising stuff that could easily end in a spill.
