    Angry Suzuki Boulevard S40 - Won't start

    Hello
    I have a 2006 Suzuki Boulevard S40.
I haven't been on the bike for a little over a week as we have been away.
I gave it a wash down this afternoon and then attempted to start it up.
It won't turn over for love nor money. I put the key in the ignition. Give it full choke and then crank it. It attempts to start then fails but makes a ticking sound for a short period then nothing else. When I leave it for a while it has another go at starting but again same routine.
Could I have gotten things wet and therefore it simple needs time to dry off.
I washed it down but used a Mist setting on my hose pipe?
Any guidance would be appreciated. Frustrating as the last time I was on it, it was fine and has always been reliable.
    Thanks
    PixelPilot.

Is it that it won't turn over, or that it does turn over, but wont fire?

Have you checked your kill switch?
    Time to ride

    Hi
It does turn over but certainly not in the usual manner.
That's probably down to the amount of times I have tried.
The lights all come on and everything else seems to work okay.
Then as I mention it reverts to a ticking sound.
    Kill switch checked yep.

Loose battery terminal or flat/stuffed battery. Try to jumperlead it off something, or try a different battery.

Yeah I guess it could be.
Would that be the case even if the lights are still coming on?

It could be. There may be enough grunt to work the lights etc but not the starter.

Well I checked the battery and it is about 1cm below the Lower Level so I'm hoping that's the answer to all this.
    What do you think?

Top it up and put it on a charger overnight.

In a car when it makes a ticking sound it is usually either the starting solenoid or starter motor, try putting it in gear and rocking it then back in neutral and try starting

I've ridden an 1800cc one and it's as close to a car you can get still with 2 wheels
