    Gaerne GRW Aquatech boots

    Hi

Looking to import some (as no one stocks them in my size...which isn't that small btw!) of these boots and want to get the skinny on them from someone who is actually wearing them.

Managed to try on 42 sized pair but they were like gumboots on me so not really a fair trial.

    SO - are they:
Waterproof - Yes or no?...I know they say they are but so does lots of gear that turns out not to be!
    Comfortable good flex in sole?
Ok to wear all day if you don't plan on taking other gear with you.

    Thanks in advance!

I've been wearing a pair of Gaerne Aquatech's for a couple of years now. They actually are waterproof. Biggest problem I have with them in the rain is that water gets in through the pants and dribbles down my legs into the boots which, being waterproof, means I end up with a boot full of water.

I love them though. Took a while to get used to because they're very stiff, but they've been through a couple of decent crashes and are still fantastic.

    Cool thanks for that.
...I'm sure Gaerne will have the cheque in the mail soon

I have not binned in them but can confirm they will do Auckland to Taupo in storm conditions with not a single leak.
I was the following day able to marshall all day without any significant discomfort. Only discomfort was when climbing or sitting on ground there is not enough movement in ankle for what I was trying to do. This is however to be expected given that that is their job, to minimise ankle movement, keep you dry and allow for a comfortable ride.

They are warm, cotton socks are a must if you plan to wear them in summer.

Excellent - thanks guys seems I've made a good choice then!

Will have to get crackin to get them here then - the old FLY motorcross boots are a sad interim measure...like wearing armoured gumboots!
