if you are doing the roadsafe course with Andrew and Lynne Templeton, dont worry you will be fine.
if your using one of his bikes it will not be a scooter, would you really want to pass the course the easy way then hit the road on a real bike (like a hyosung) and not know whats going on with it?
you will be riding bikes like this
youll be fine.
Welcome!
The FXR's are a fantastic bike!
PLEASE DONT BUY A HYOSUNG!!
The FXR would suit you FAR FAR better.
Or theres always a brand new Honda CBF250 for $5K
Just stay with a Jap bike. You cant go wrong.
Motorcycing is not a hobby, It is a way of life!
Missed forever! NEVER FORGOTTEN!!
LIVE ON MY FRIENDS!
Friends dont let friends ride Hyosungs
Hey GB, some of the 'around the bays' stuff is ok, but honestly some of its quite narrow and twisty. I don't love it.
Up Aro Valley, through the tunnel towards Karori, head under around to Wilton, Ngaio Gorge etc is good practice. I used to head out from Ngaio at stupid o'clock on a Saturday/Sunday morning when I was learning. Do as many kms as possible/you can afford... esp early in morning/late at night so you can get used to riding the bike before learning to deal with other traffic.
BTW - Rimutakas need not be daunting. Its a wide/twisty=fun road with plenty of slow cars to hide behind. Just keep your eyes on your mirrors and let the fast bikes go past. The fast bikes usually know what they are doing.
"If life gives you a shit sandwich..." someone please complete this expression
basic handling tomorrow! I'm so excited, but also a bit nervous, any helpful hints and tips?
Relax, you will do fine. Nothing in the BHS that will catch you up. And everything is explained and demonstrated for you.....Plus lots and lots of practice.....
You will do fine.....

She'll get there. Its not the easiest step going from never riding a bike to being confident.
Keep at it!
