Well took the bike for a decent ride tonight and happy to report that there is nothing wrong with it......No wheel wobble - so rim is not buckled....

Stoked about the fact there is no damage....

Still going replace the rear tyre though.....

    Glad you are OK

You might want to check the rear wheel for small cracks or keep an eye out for any changes over time. Maybe check when you get the tyre changed. Peace of mind and all that.

Well there is hope for people after all....

Received a phone call from the person who rear ended me. Got an apology, and he also offered to pay for any damage done. Told him that the mechanics didn't find any on the brief inspection done at the time. Told him I was going to replace the tyre as I didn't trust it anymore, and was going to get the rim checked at the same time. He asked what the name of the shop I was going to get the tyre from.......told him, and he has gone down and paid for a new tyre + fitting. And has also agreed that if the rim is damaged I am to call him, and he will pay for a new one......

So maybe there is some good in people after all.......

    Maybe he's also a biker

Glad you're ok, could have been so much worse. And glad to hear that the cager is not a bad guy after all. He was certainly stressed out after the hit (not minimizing his fault, though), it's good that he's now taken responsibility.
