James Thomas Handley Taylor -arrived by c-section at 11.41 pm 15 January 2008. Weight is 8lb 12 (he has minor breathing problems and is in ICU but is otherwise a great wee man) ...

Jude is doing well - but will be stuck in Room 3 Hutt Hospital Marternity for the next five days - she would love some visits from any locals to help keep her entertained and show the lad off to!!!!

Remember to ring before you go in, just in case they aren't in a state to receive visitors. Jude won't feel like beach volleyball for a couple weeks either.

When my daughter was born I found myself off to get something from some corner of the maternity ward at about 5am. I met a woman who saw something in my eyes and said "yer first, is it?". I answered in the affirmative and she said "congratulations, now the work really begins".

She wasn't far wrong, either. But of all the things I've done with my life, these two kids are clearly the best. So, congratulations to Judecatmad and Dave - you're going to work your arses off
