    Leopard - Mac OS

    Anyone tried it out?

Im thinking of upgrading to Leopard from Tiger.

Looks great, has some brilliant features.

Main reason though I would like to be able to use Bootcamp again.. since Leopards release the Tiger version "expired" ...clever buggers!

Great, yeah I have heard the little 'niggles' but nothing major to put me off. Still heaps better than 'other' new release OS'

Do you know of any 'fell of the back of a lorry' versions?

Apparently most successful version yet of OS X, going by purchase stats and customer satisfaction.

Watch performance, though. If your hardware is a little bit old it may struggle (or at least that's my experience when using upgraded Macs).

im running leopard on a G4 ibook. Runs fine, nice and smooth

I use linux/freebsd for pretty much everything workstation and server wise so

    A) you get workspaces, which are sexy awesome
    B) You get expose, which is still sexy awesome
    C) You get freebsd terminal commands, directory structure, all that foolery
    and D)...

    It has pretty colours

Does look quite mint. Some small trick desktop apps are now starting to be Leopard only which is going to get annoying real soon. Have a Mac Mini (Dual 1.8GHz 2G RAM) so hoping it runs it ok when the time comes.

    1mb of ram?
that might be a problem.. If you could top it up, like to a gig, then yup, it'll be fine. Don't know how you'd run anything on a meg of ram any more..

Using it at work on various machines:
    Mac Mini 1.83Ghz 1GB Ram
    Macbook Pro 2.2GHz 2GB Ram
New Mac pro with 8 core and 1GB RAM (will be upgraded soon)

Haven't seen any issue yet, all my old Tiger apps works well.

    Definately worth the upgrade.
