    Heartening news

On the local radio news this morning, the local transports operators representative pointing out that the first rain after a prolonged dry spell can make the road surface very slippery.

He followed this with an appeal to truck operators and other users of diesel vehicles, including owners of diesel cars, to check that their vehicle wasn't dropping diesel on the road.

I hope I wasn't the only one that heard his comments...

    Nice try Tom

Motorcycle tanks have breathers in the filler. If you over-fill your tank (as many people do), the first time you lean the bike, you get spillage all down your nice clean tank.

I'm assuming diesels have breathers like that, too? Because I've noticed around fuel stations, if there's a roundabout nearby or a reasonably tight corner, you're far more likely to find diesel on the road than your average roundabout.
