    Cloverfield (the film)

I'm not a party pooper so don't worry nothing will be revealed by me about the plot but I will say that if you were a fan of the Blair Witch movie then this could be for you!

For what it's worth, I think Cloverfield is better (just) than I am Legend (and I thought I am Legend was a bit if a let down).

    What do others think?

Hmm went to see this last night. I really dont want to say too much about because it will give it away. Didnt find it scary at all, was a little disappointed, some people in the cinema after the movie finished had a reaction, but not going to tell you what that was either, but was friggin funny! But I agree, was better than the blair witch movie, and certainly better than I am Legend!

The only low note would have to be the start is quite slow, but would recommend it.

Looking forward to seeing Cloverfield, went and saw I am legend yesterday, bloody good in my opinion, but some big holes in the story.
"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."

I'm interested - I just don't want to see a JJ Abrams / Lost type film where all the main characters spend the entire time wandering around going: "New York has been invaded by aliens! What does this mean for our relationship? Why don't we talk anymore? Did you sleep with my best friend?"

Be good to see NY get it in the neck, though. Again.

is the whole movie shot through a really shaky handicam, cos if it is (like the trailer suggests) itwould suck some super big hairy cops ass.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

Yes the entire movie is shot through a handy cam Blair Witch style. And yes indeed it sucks some super big hairy cops ass.

If I knew this before going in I would've been prepared but after 15 mins I was wishing I chose AvP instead.

    AvP = teh suck
I am Legend = cool movie, crap ending
Cloverfield = cool movie, crap ending.

With cloverfield i would have loved to see the ending from a different perspective, but I suppose you have to stick with the whole 'shaky handcam' thing.

One thing to note... the monster apparently strikes around midnight... and the ending is around 6am... yet the movie is only 1.5hrs long and there are no real cuts in the video - or did i miss something?

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
