That would be because your sunnies are a quality polarised lens. I cant wear mine under either the clear or tinted Shoei visor, weird colouration is just too freaky and gives me a headache after a while.

I got the XR-1000 Rouge with a chrome mirrored visor! I also came from an old HJC lid too. I love the XR-1000!!! It's a super nice helmet and the mirror tint is amazing. It's more hassle than your regular dark tint but I believe it's worth it. It looks mint!

It's merely a very slight optical distortion . I don't get it with the clear visor + sunnies, just with the tinted visor.
Must be a different effect for you. I wear glasses and recently upgraded my sunnies to a prescription polarised. I get a flashing rainbow on both the clear and tinted visor when wearing them. When I look at other UV glass like windscreens I get the flashing rainbow and a bonus 3D type shimmery silvery blue distortion that makes me want to fall over. I don’t get it with my normal specs or other prescription sunnies that aren’t polarised. Could be a lens distortion thing I spose but I put it down to the polarisation.

Edit - Its the polarisation for sure. So if you want to use a clear visor with sunnies then dont buy polarised

I wear the dark tint now cept night time, but the clear sunnies combination was OK as well because I didn’t need to phaff around changing specs on a bright day when I stop for a break. Mind you, now I look more like Darth Vader which is great

I agree that polarised sunglasses under any visor cause visual disturbance and mild 'blind spots'

You'll probably find that Arai & AGV helmets fit you if the Shoei doesn't.
