It was my father's nickname when he was a fighter pilot in WWII based out of Singapore flying 'Buffaloes' and eventually, 'Hurricanes'
It's just an abbreviation of our surname.

I've been using 'jrandom' as an online handle for 15 years.

I'm not the only one, and plenty of others have used it for plenty of years before that.

Mine is totally unoriginal - when I joined KB I rode a BMW F650CS so took on the name Beemer. Only KB people call me that, as I now ride a Suzuki Goose - and use the name Loose Goose on other forums! (A tad more appropriate...)
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

Yes, what's up with all you people who join online bike forums and name yourselves after your motorcycle?

Do you honestly never expect to change bikes?

Because I have very limited imagination and lacked the foresight to think people would be going around calling me by my KB name, I chose Lissa which is my sister-in laws nick name for me, and an abbreviation of my real name Melissa. Borning... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Big fan for 15+ years of Joe Burt and the main character from the cartoon strip he runs in Mountain Bike UK.
