He'll be on his best behaviour When and where? PM me

So I changed the tank over myself this afternoon and I think SE looks heaps better. The OB tail certainly gives him some character too me thinks

You'll also notice OB in the backround now off the floor and on it's feet.

Have you managed to snaffle the bigger carbs for your bike, Number one?

Nah. Mine goes good all round so not really too fussed about messing with the motor much.

He can keep his carbs + as his isn't fully logging on at the moment and mine is working properly - if it ain't broke don't fix it I reckon!

Fair enough... you know where they are though, if you change your mind!

Well, the Number One SV is getting a bit more use than the Sully SV!
Really glad you got your handling/braking issues sorted. Personally, I reckon the SV650/S is the most under-rated bike around. As mentioned previously, I did all the suspension mods on Gassit Girl's K1 SV, and when she got her K5, I did them all over again. She loved both of them, and so for that matter, did I ( that is, of course, whenever I had permission from headquarters to ride them)

I had a bugger of a job to convince Gassit Girl that we should put an Ohlins shock on her first SV. The K1 was only 5 days old when it had the cartridge emulators done (at the first service), and after about 4 months she gave in and let me put the shock on. After one ride she was sold on the idea!
I reckon it's more of an investment, rather than cost, to spend a bit of dosh on the SV suspension... it makes a good bike bloody awesome

The SE is now almost back to it's orginal self.

Went pillion on it the other night and given time constraints we didn't have time to pop the whole fairing on and so just put the seat and pillion pegs back on....out with no pants on he was.

    I felt so embarrassed

Anyway it was a good lesson to go up and down the Rimas on the back though I'd probably have preferred a slightly more leisurely trip

The bike is going really well and my confidence is growing all the time....AND most important I JUST LOVE IT. It is the only place that I can really just do and enjoy and zone in on completely to the exclusion of other pressures.

Some days everything just *clicks* and I feel great. Those times are getting closer and closer together and it is satisfying to feel the improvements even if only small ones.

The weather is now becoming a factor and I begrudgingly put my liners back in the cordura - should have done it sooner but I guess I was hopeful that this was a minor and fleeting blip in the weather as opposed to the reality which is that Summer has gone

Not too worried about the weather now that the forks and rear suspension have changed as the stock equipment seemed be quite prone to being pushed around by the wind but now the bike hardly moves at all. Plus I spent years commuting from Upper Hutt in traffic in all weather so not too concerned and I guess too given I got my knee down in the wet twice at the buckets that wetness is at least not too much of a concern to my brain at this stage - what do need to be mindful of though on the road is that I am not on Wet Race tyres and that the SV has a bit more get up and go than the little ZX140Rc so less traction and more power...careful girl

I've also been lent some proper road boots and my gosh what a difference! Thanks again to the lovely lady concerned it is just awsome - both on the bucket and on the road. Much less bulky and I have a lot more feel and subtlety to my gear changing and low speed braking (though don't use the back much). SO now that I have my back protector and much better gloves my fundage for bike investments will be on some boots next...if I can ever bloody find someone who can get me what I want

Bucket racing has been awesome for my cornering skills and confidence and all the corners on the road that usd to make me a touch nervous on the SE - I now laugh at! HAHAHAHAHAHAAA ha you piddly little corner that I can get around no worries!

My next big challenges are to sit my tests (which I just know I can ace - just need to stop procrastinating) AND the other BIG challenge is to attack my driveway and once and for all - start riding down it!

    The story goes like this....
Because this is the prettiest bike I've ever owned I'm really protective of the front fairing. I really want to keep it intact. We have a steap, rutted out gravel driveway and at the bottom of that is a flat soupy pit of gravel and now it's getting wintery again it is also very claylike in places. As I hate going down hill anyway and hate the surface I have been unable to make myself jump over that hurdle and ride down the driveway on my new bike.

I used to do this? It's something that literally started from when I got the SE and purely out of fear for ruining the fairing...

I certainly back myself more elsewhere but for some reason I have a mental block with my driveway. I even used to ride the OB down it...derr it's the same bike only it's hubbies and has no front fearing! It's kinda irrational I know, but I just feel more comfortable getting off at the top and walking it down in nuetral while covering the brake.

I'll just go get a hammer and hit myself with it I think....

    Anyway -
    Rock on!!!
    I just love being
    Back on the road again!

I have to admit when I rode up I had second thoughts about riding down there, so just stopped at the top to wait for you.

You could ride down our drive as practice. Its a bit steeper but nice and smooth.
