    Toddler lost in forest

There's a toddler, lost in a forest. For real, right now, it's not the start of a joke or something.

    http://stuff.co.nz/4366944a10.html

His dad, get this, left him in the car while he went hunting. Got back to the car and ... quelle surprise ... kid had ambled off on a bit of an adventure. He's two. FFS.

There is a man who is truly in trouble with her indoors.

How long was the hunting trip? If it was an hour may be just an accident but if he left him for like 6 hours the the dad must be not right...

You what? You'd leave a 2yo in a car, alone, in the bush, for an hour?
    Spare us....
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

The article said that he left his son with his brother I assume the brother of the father, not the brother of the kid. if he did the second one then he is dumb. anyway I hope they find him soon.

It doesn't say in the story.. Can we take it this is the sort of person that wont appreciate any police assistance/intervention?
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.

Pretty sure it reads brother of the 2year old, dunno what age he was but you shouldn't leave kids in the car regardless

More proof that common sense is no longer common. A two year old with an older brother in a car for two hours! And he seriously expected that they would be there when he returned!
    What a tosser
Hope they find the poor little bugger soon, the weather is not looking kind to a wee kid alone in the bush.

Sounds like it was the Son's older Brother.

What is wrong with this guy.......could he not have done something more 'bonding' with his Son's?

    Geeze...............

Incident Type: Land search for Missing 2yr old boy

At 5:00pm today, the Taupo Police initiated a search for a two year old boy, lost in the Kaingaroa Forest.
The boy had been left with an older sibling, in a vehicle, while his father went into the bush to go hunting. When the father returned about 2 hours later, the boy had wandered away from the vehicle, and could not be found.
The vehicle was parked off Haupapa Road, which runs off High Level Road, in the Kaingaroa Forest.
The father was forced to drive out of the forest to establish cellphone contact so that he could raise the alarm.
A ground search has been started with the assistance of LandSAR volunteers.

My brother and I used to get left alone in the car all the time. To keep ourselves entertained we used to toot the horn and duck down, everyone in the New World car park would look around...classic. We turned out just fine....htfu

Yeah, gotta be pretty hard to survive a supermarket car park.
