Anyone any idea where I could get a rear caliper for an xj400.

Might be a silly question, but what's wrong with the old one?

Its seized and the bleed nipples are shagged.
(I don't know what bleed nipples are)
Someone else is fixing it for me if I can get a caliper.
(Actually don't know what a caliper is either)
Anyway, have you any info.... much appreciated if you do.

Where abouts are you? I've to see a seized caliper I couldn't unseize (although the pistons are generally toast), and bleeders whilst a major pain in the butt, are removeable.

If your caliper piston is toast, and the bleeder requires major surgery to fix, you're looking around the $100-$120 price to fix it up.

Having said that, slide seals are next to impossible to get, probably OEM, is it a single piston sliding caliper, or two opposed pistons?

Post a picture if in doubt

    Thanks imdying,
    Got sorted(I hope).
Bought a complete rear braking system on ebay(its got parts I don't need but will keep for spares).
The chap said they were all in working order and off an xj400 1991 Divvy so I cross my fingers and hope for the best.....
I'll call upon you again(if you don't mind) if it does'nt work out.
    Thanks again..
