He was suffering from pneumonia, so he was sick in bed.
So I am picking that the night before, he took his medication.... went to sleep and maybe woke up in the middle of the night, still dopey from the drugs thinking he hadn't taken them, and then took some more....
He was expecting a person to do a massage that morning........ as his housekeeper let them in.... so I don't think he intended to kill himself.
I believe that it was an accidental overdose that claimed his life.
