Yeah chain didn't look to bad, but seening it on new sprocket, know it needs replacing it, hence reason i took photos of bike and not acutally test out the new sprocket.

pity only done 10,000kms on it

Cajun - I would hope that you would always replace chain and both sprockets at the same time. NEVER run new with old.
I seriously doubt that a single stone incident would have done that to your old sprocket...look at the shape of it where the chain rollers sit, that's looks like longterm wear...perhaps just finished off the job? Maybe...just maybe...if you have a couple of smashed rollers in the old chain? Inspect and post pics??
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    Nice looking sprocket, Neal!

I had a look at the Supersprox site, and they don't do one for the VFR.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Just a thought...you say you were running a 520 kit. Sure you didn't have a 525 something slipped in there?

Hell. That's bloody cheap. Probably not the gold one is it? It cost $245 for a 530VM-108 for my Father in law's 2003 Hornet 900 two weeks ago. Did we get ripped off? I thought that was an okay price for that chain.

Which 530 are we talking about here? Cajun's one is the gold one.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

But they do one for the XJR

Those huggers look good, as well.

Wouldn't make much difference as 520 / 530 / 525 are all the same pitch just different widths. wear is from months of running a severely worn chain. Wear should have been noticed a lot earlier than this. Have you inspected the front sprocket as you'll find that it will be worn as well.
