Reccomended Tyres - Hyosung GT250R 07

Ok time for a bit of advice. Going in for my first ever set of brand news - somehow I've run all my bikes off hand-me-down rubber, or just binned 'em before it was needed.

My GT20R is just turned over 4500 and put a great fuffin selftapping screw in the rear tyre. Smack bang in the middle. Time for a new set - off with the factory crap and on with something decent.

Q:

I'm doing about 800 - 1000 k's per month. Full time commuter and weekend road warrior. Run the GT250R at mid-high psi (36/36) - I only weigh 75kilos.

Does anyone have any recommendation's. I'm looking for a nice mix of lastability and stickyness. Cheers,

I currently have dunlop gt501's front and rear, seem to be a good tyre for my needs... mainly commuter with the weekend ride...

damn side better than the shinko's...

Depends on how far the commute is to be honest...... you will chew up the better weekend tires pretty quick if its far.



GPR70s or what ever there replacement are are known to grip more than what is needed.

To quote an old friend

If you need more grip for a ZXR250 than a GPR70 can throw at you, you're my hero, these tyres are the bizzo and really are above what the bike can throw at it, if you crash with GPR's on your're a muppet and for the record i am a muppet.

I commute daily but not long distance and enjoy long weekend rides. I would also like to feel more comfortable in the wet - I guess thats every situation isnt it. Because my commutes are short each day I wouldnt want anything that takes forever to warm but I really want the confidence on the longer weekend rides 300-500k. Go with the Sport Demons - you'll get more grip than you know what to do with & a very good service life to boot, they certainly aint the cheapest tyres on the market but the investment is well worth it

A young mate of mine has just put them on his 250 Comet & is absolutely amazed at the transition in the way the bike both feels & rides. I'd been on his case to get rid of the crap bl**dy O/E Shinkos that were on it, he now wishes he'd listened & done it when he first got the bike...

Can't tell some people, aye...

Thanks for that! The Sport Demons are significantly cheaper than the Diablo Stradas. Does that mean the Stradas are better but wasted on me widdle two fiddy?

Ill go to the shop and chat with the sales person and buy whatever they tell me. I am a consumer whore after all.

I think you'll find the main difference between the two tyres will be that the Diablo's are of a radial construction where as the the Sport Demons are the old school bias (better known as cross) ply construction...

The 250 ain't got the most amazing chassis or suspension technology known to man so the Sport Demons will suit it just fine, with perhaps a very minor trade off in absolute riding comfort when compared to the same bike fitted with radials...

Ultimately it's your choice, but either will be a significant leap in the right direction in terms of all round performance & saftey...
