WGTN: Calling 'Norf Welly Massif' Galz

Ok - so I know it is sad that I am on here at this time on this day but hubby is out and I have only myself to amuse myself…tragic

Anyway after much nagging from hubby, Skunk urging me to nagg SkunkControl to get out there, Mrs Kendog chomping at the bit AND keeping in mind the fact that I am looking to rebuild my riding skills and ‘get out there’ (do we have the legal technology for road skill building? ...not yet boss but we soon will) I have agreed and am keen to, give this slipway buckets thingameee a go and wanted to see if you other ‘Norf Welly Massif’ Galz are keen.

I personally don’t feel confident enough to be terribly enthused about the prospect of mixing it on the slipway with the ‘pros’ nor am I terribly keen to be out there on my own…well I might consider that if no one watches me……

But despite all that paranoia and pussydom, I am keen to have a go! Socialise with someGalz! Watch others, learn and try things out and have a laugh and maybe some cucumber sandwiches in the process - HA!

Anyway as I said I personally am not planning on mixing it with the 'pros' but am keen to go round and round a bit.

Any other ‘Norf Welly Massif’ Galz interested in giving it a go too?

C'mon ladies (especially those of you with men who do it already – there seem to be a few of us afterall)...how about it?

I’m hoping that if there's enough of us we might…possibly…hopefully be able to twist the boys arms into allowing some of us a run of our very own on the day….

Oh and just in case…I don’t think just cos we are girls we ‘need' our own run I get that you all are probably quite confident in your abilities and happy to mix it with the regulars and that's cool

I however am a sook and an out of practise rusty one at that!

So who’s keen?

Will post a link to the best quality video of the boys on the slipway if you haven’t already seen it…I’m sure if your boy is anything like mine you have, several times…or he’s got it on his favourites…[ but if not watch this space ]

Hubby said Str8Jacket makes a guest appearance too...

Ahhh, you know I'm in, however will be borrowing a bike so will be nervous about hurting someone elses pride and joy (or at least project).

YAY!!! First bite...Bling for you comin chick! I think the fellas will tell us to NOT worry about that as they get on them and go probably a heck of a lot more mad than us polite ladies might. ANyway - I can say that I won't be trying to blitz anyone...just av a go! PLUS - Craig has assured me that the purpose of buckets is that you know you can BIFF it away...NOt that it's the aim however!

Not sure what the 'BITCH' linky thingame was - Craig said it might be Christine? ANyway keen to give it all a go but Craig said I can just 'rape' (yeah right) his bike so someone else can use the Bitch. Working out gears as we speak...I don't have any good boots though?! Wish my road bike would hurry up...planning to get some (and new helmet and jacket) in the same deal.

, but these things do happen and I would hate to stuff up someones hard work or day, but keen as to try it and I'll ride anything..... once!

I have a spare pair of boots you can borrow if you'd fit them, what size are ya? these are about a size 9.

Absolutely! Agree...that has stopped me riding the SV and trying my hand at buckets for the last...however long too. Craig assured me not to worry and well...he does owe me a bike anyway so what the hey!

Youa are a gem woman...that's mighty kind of you to offer and will definately give them a bash if you are not too worried about the possibility that they might meet the tarmack!

I'm about an 8.5 - 9 depending on the make...the problem for me (and why I don't have any) is getting them done up over my muscular calves! Have stupidly small ankles but generous calves....hee hee hee sob!

I have the exact same problem!! I have to wear my pants over top of my boots otherwise I can't zip them up, very annoying ain't it, so rest assured, if they go over my 'calves of steel' (lol), they'll go over yours, and no probs about scuffs, they already are and it all adds to the 'street cred'!!
