Tyre advice please..

Want to put some decent sticky rubber on the Triumph TT600.
Its got the original Bridgestone battlax on and it does'nt inspire a lot of confidence, as they are 6 yrs old and done 14000km.
Once I've done a few things to the bike I want to have a go at some track days, as I've never done them before.
So can you guys, especially those who do trackdays and ride hard, advise me of some decent sticky rubber.
Not really looking for long mileage, but more for excellent grip as the main feature on the road and track.
I'm pretty happy with the Michelins on my Duc as a good road tyre, but have never really had any other make to comapre with
The sizes on the bike are the usual 120 & 180.

M3's if you want to do plenty of road and a bit of track.

Bridgestone BT002 Streets if you want something a bit stickier on the track (and wonderful handling). I still get 8000km out of a set of the BT002s (not to be confused with BT020's) on my Speed Four including trackdays. The TT is essentially the same bike.

For the love of god, dont bother with Pilot Powers, on a sensitive bike like the TT (and Speed Four) you'll quickly find the sidewall sucks. Apparently the 2CT's are better, but haven't had a chance to try them yet (about to).

I find the brigestones to be great on the road but the rear tends to cook on the track after very few laps. I would go the M3's.

Hi Dooly,

I just sold my TT600 but did a few track days on it when i had it. I ran Pirrelli diablo front and a diablo strada rear and got good k's out of them (not that you seem bothered about that aspect), although dropping the psi at the track days had a serious affect on the k's i got out of them.

I tend to be in the slower half of the medium group and found the tires held up to the challange, Once had a slip in the front (very minor) caused by rider input (went in to deep and rolled off the gas when i should have been putting it on.... not being smooth through a corner) but thats not something that you can rely on a tire to fix. Had a few slides from the rear though under gas exiting corners under good conditions and if i kept the bike i would have gone one step stickier on the rear. If id kept mine i would have gone for diablo front and back although i was also thinking of having a go at the M3's (they seem to have a good rep). Hope this helps ya

TT600 a cool bike man, i had a good run out of mine and had heaps of enjoyable track time on it too. still cant wait till my rsvr gets here

I might have a look at them I think.

As for the Pirellis 2WM, I have them on my Speed Triple and find them not that great sometimes. Am thinking of replacing them as they are getting down a bit, but not too badly worn.
But of course the Triple is a different bike to the TT, and I have'nt decided what tyre to put on the Triple, or what would be best, as I dont intend to do track days on that.
Am thinking Michelin PP 2CT?
