TSS Motorcycles in Alicetown, Lower Hutt have a crashed one in back of the workshop. I haven't looked at it closely although I think the tank was still attached.

    $2500!!!
You'd be better off buying a whole new bike and useing the old one for parts.

Dunedin prices maybe? But that's still pretty crazy. Sure it wasn't an email quote from Red Baron?

If that was a yellow one crashed out the back...... Is being repaired....Think the guy would notice his tank missing...

I tell you what. You post it up to Wellington, to me. I'll take it to work, get the mig onto any holes in the tank (once its cleaned of course), then I'll put about 100PSI into it and heat up any dents in the tank and hopefully they should pop themselves out. I've never tried this before but I hear it works quite well.
As for paint. If its yellow, I've still got a rattle can left over from when I repainted my fairing.

I am of course joking. Don't send your tank to me. Plus I've already got heaps of perk jobs that need doing.

Just a thought but try giving STAR Insurance a bell. They have heaps of wrecked bikes up for grabs on trademe at the moment. Might find something worthwhile...

They pulled a part for mine off "the wreck out back". Could be the same bike I guess if they intend to replace that part for the other guy. A bit cheeky though.
