I'd been looking for footage of Barry's crash at Daytona testing in 1975, finally found something. A proper legend.

1979 Sheene Vs Roberts British GP.
Glad they have improved the safety barriers. Hay wrapped around steel poles doesn't do much for me!
Good find, OAB; I was just reading 'Barry Sheene 1950-2003: The Biography' last night, as a matter of fact, thinking that I should have a look online for that Daytona crash footage.
Great minds, etc...
kiwibiker is full of love, an disrespect.

what a hard man! cheers for the footage thats unreal the speeds they are doin that long ago!!! I was coming through the kink at puke with the out of calibration speedo reading 299 and the when the engine started making a horrible sound hoping that same thing wouldnt happen to me just last week!
Old Schoolgood find OAB
Aaaaah, dontcha miss the ol' oil burners?
Sheene's description of the Daytona crash was interesting....doesn't seem to quite tie into the video footage. Still, there's no denying the courage he displayed through all of his career and the way he still kept forging onwards despite the setbacks. Tough ol' bastard...as they all seemed to be back then.
Don't ya just miss the old days of GPs!
Those guys had balls to race the switches they rode back then! And did ya see the lead changes........................
Is it still beastiality if ya fuck a frozen chicken??
Murray Walker once said...''even today, if a biker is stoped by police they ask the rider, who do you fink you are? Barry Sheene?
I have two Dvd's on the man, an awesome book and a model of his RG500.
