who has integrated tail/flasher lights?

just wondering if you get any hassle about them, like getting a WoF etc, or from other people on the road..
just thinking about getting a tail with flashers' unit for my bike..

The ones I have followed, QKIDS and a few others ZX10s, have an annoying trait of turning the brake light down when the indicator flashes this makes it hard to determine what direction they are going.

What brand you looking at?

Some of the LEDs have blown and it looks like you have to replace the whole unit. It also causes the front indicators to flash "too quickly". End result = failed WOF. Front indicators may flash OK if integrated unit is working at 100%, don't know at the moment, hopefully will find out tomorrow.

They do look neater, but at the moment the WOF hassle is annoying.

VFX. These look a bit more trick. I just love the way these works, and yeah, I know it's just bling.. but still.. think they're cool

Do the brake lights turn down on both sides? or just the turning side?

I've got LEDs on the bike front and rear already, so the quick flashing problem, isn't for me. They flash quick if the engine isn't running, but hasn't failed a WoF on them yet.
Can't you unsolder the blown LEDs and replace them?

Cant really remember I just remember it being hard to discern direction....

Not if you buy an electronic flasher relay from the likes of DSE. (btw doesn't matter if all the LED's are working, the resistance from them is not sufficient enough anyway, resulting in the quicker flashing you talk of. Only way to fix it is to put the correct resistor into the circuit or get the aforementioned electronic flasher.)

Which flasher unit exactly are you talking about onearmbandit? I've bought an undertail for my 04/05 ZX6R 636 with LED's mounted on the undertail. The result looks awesome but they do flash quicker. I've read plenty of times all I need to do is put a suitable resistor inline on the +ve side of the LED's to correct this but I have no idea what size resistor. I've in the past installed 'a resistor' that was recommended from a pimpled faced guy at jaycar but it didn't fix the flash rate but instead appeared to dim the LED's...so I took it out. I think the flasher unit is the way to go but what one do I need and do I need to replace a 'stock' one in the bike already? Sorry for all the questions but when it comes to electronics...although I love gadgets I'm not the brightest spark :slap:

I've had issues with mine, but not as far as WOF is concerned. I had a row LED's on the fritz and had to split the light open and fiddle with the circuit board (Oh Joy). A couple of relay problems, but now all is fine. They do help tidy up a rear end though! Mine is the "Clear Alternatives" tailight.

my flashers came with a small silver box that deals with the current. I would have preferred to use a replacement relay, but it came with the flashers, so I installed it anyway

i have recently installed an integrated tail light on my SV, and also a new undertail which also includes indicators.
have a read of my post http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=64581, IMDYING was really helpful when i was trying to figure it all out.
I ended up buying a Tridon LED04 flasher relay, ($50 auto sparky saw me coming!), but it works perfectly. Yes i have lost the function of the indicators speeding up if a indicator bulb blows, but i allways check my lights before going for a WOF anyways so i figure the WOF guy is never gunna know.
Mounting and wiring the relay was a piece of piss, especially since IMDYING gave me the wire colours.
I am really happy with the look of the new tail light, it is a little dimmer in the daytime, but hey, i have four indicator lights on the rear of the bike now. Looks f'n awesome at nighttime!
This pics not the best but gives you some idea.
I haven't been for a WOF with the mods yet, so hopefully no problems will arise there.

Yeah, every one i've seen has been terrible in the functionality department. The flasher is getting too close the centre of the bike and getting mixed in with the tail light.

Not so good for the safety stakes me thinks. I wouldn't have one for that reason.
