The only way thats going to happen is in traffic where the bike can get past and the car cannot. (assuming we are talking full spec hi po cars here not some body kitted wanna be)Originally Posted by mikey
The conering and braking ability of the car is superior... Sorry, just the way it is... Check out the last results in the Race For The Sky down at the snow farm...
Sure, most bikers are better at using the illegal end of the bikes performance envelope but given a good driver and an empty road. A really fast car should win it.. There have been a zillion car vs bike races on tracks, car usually does it on the twisty ones. The bikes superior acceleration helps but where corner speed is king. back the car...
Not that I care or even know what it would be like to have that much power, just my opinion, experience and research leads me to think this way. In traffic, I'd back the bike..
Cheers
Before I start, this is not a piss take: Mikey, maybe you should go racing. Seriously, if you can take down a TVR that is trying hard on a freak'n 250 then you must have some talent. I recall many many moons ago a guy in a then new 93ish SS Comode had a go at racing me from about Govenors bay to Lyttleton. I was on my FZ400R, and the bike had a little extra go than the SS in a straight line, but not much. I stayed behind him rather than risk getting run over. The 400 was probably quicker than your 250, and a TVR would be heaps quicker than the Commode. So you clearly have more ability than me. Not that that's saying much...(sigh) Go racing.

Performance bikes did a recent comparo between a heavily wanked WRX, a Gixxer 1K and a GS500.
Interestingly, BOTH bikes fucked the car everywhere except braking.
Seen the results myself.
If anyone thinks they're the gun in their V8 or Hairdressers car, I'll gladly meet them at Taupo for a DRY track battle. No race cars, I'll be on a road bike.

Motorcyclist have done at least two comparo's betwixt 1000's and the hottest Corvette money could buy at the time. The first was waaay back in '89 when they lined up the FZR1000EXUP against the 'Vette. The bike wore standard rubber and the car had 'the stickest DOT rated rubber they could find'. The bike won around either Laguna Seca or Willow by a few seconds, but the car was quicker in the bends. Years later they did one with the then new GSXR1000 and the new Vet. Same deal with the tyres, and they got Kevin Swantz to pilot both (he races cars now). The Gixxer kicked ass (this was in the US Hitcher), interestingly the bike had turned the tables on mid corner speed- it cornered significantly faster everywhere except one corner, and that was due to the different lines the bike took to take advantage of acceleration.Originally Posted by White trash
This is a link to an article where they put a standard GSXR1000 and a Crescent Rizla GSXR1000 up againts a bunch of cars. If you read it, remember the RADICAL SR3 TRACKSPORT is a purpose made track day car. It is so low to the ground it would have trouble clearing a matchbox stood on its end. I say try the test again on a real road.

Remember kiddies, we're talking here about a guy wanting to pit his 250cc bike against all comers!!

Boredom, the root of all evil!
I can get around Manfield in 1.26 in my SC400 fitted with 245 section, sticky as shit, 18 inch tyres.
The only corner I could carry more speed through in the car than on my bike was the hairpin.
I can do 1.22 on an FZR250.
Nuff said.
