Heh. An old 85 Totota Corolla XL. Patches of rust, but with nearly 300,000 km on it the engine's sweet as with no major work. It's shifted more houses than I care to think about trailer load by trailer load, up and down Wellington hills, and when I moved here I stuck everything I owned in it and drove from Taranaki. It's been around the whole South Island several times, and a fair chunk of the North. It's been to every major city in New Zealand, and countless little places out the back of beyond. It survived me learning to drive, and my teenage years of driving like an idiot with gear box intact. It's been broken in to, rear ended, and side swiped. There were a few more personal firsts, as well.

I don't have the heart to get rid of it. I love that little car.

Oh, and a '94 Toyota Trueno GT Apex. Goes like snot when you rev it up, but it's been nothing but trouble - probably average $1k plus a year in work. Either that or my garage is raping me. Or both. Looking to replace it with something like a Puegot 405 or 406, or maybe a Nissan 2 litre 6.
Look, it's an itsy bitsy Bandit.

I'd actually like to see the POS crashed....farqin holden drivers!
Its got laser jammers front and rear, 2 radar detectors and some other noisy bullshit
the POS has a limiter, which is why it stops at 220.... and yeah, his speedo is calibrated/ certified...the prick is an ex-MoT and also a lawyer! and he loves taking every ticket he gets to court... wasting more tax-payers money!

(did I mention I have a dog in Oz called Ford?)

Hope he uses the classic "you can't have had your radar on 'cos my detector never went off" I encourage anyone who says that to write in and see if they get off

Also his calibration "certificate" thing ain't worth the paper it is written on in Court but don't burst his bubble eh?

Seems odd that a man hell bent on speeding, fits all the electronic crap you mentioned then STILL has a limiter :spudwhat:

You really gotta watch out for the un-marked HP cars then.

Dunno what all is done to them, chipped, modded suspension I s'pose and a really big acceleremator! Never met anybody who has got one to 250km - the light-bar causes a bit too much drag but 220+ has been done (apparently)
Well considering all the years I've paid tax - I'm sure I own at least half a car.

By the way - why do you (all coppers) drive those stupid holdens - when something like a WRX/EVO/VR4 will easily catch anything - be cheaper to fix - be more reliable and with your advanced driving skills be a real deterent to speeders. Also with our NZ roads 4WD should be a bonus ???

But I guess your bosses just like to do whatever the aussies do huh?

Don't talk to me about 'reliable' and VR4 in the same breath, the auto is shite in the one I've used and has cost a fortune so far in repairs!!

Al all those front wheel drive/four wheel drives need a bowling green sized area to turn around - not so good in the Kawarau Gorge etc.s

Plus the can't be offered at the same discount as Holdens,- N.Z. Police and equipment? try cheap=good!

    Thats what the handbrakes for!
    Auto = shite?
Are you talking about 5 speed tiptronic? thats one of the best auto boxes ive seen...
Haven't had to fix anything major on mine and the only thing coming up is new front rotors. Had it for nearly two years now.
