    Bike Training

    I have written my first test, and am riding on an 'L' plate, and would like to take my second test and some rider training to move up my skills. I believe that there is a course that you can take that shortens your time on a restricted licence, does anyone know who gives these courses?
    Thanks

    Check out the FAQs on this site - I think there is licensing info there. A basic defensive driving course will reduce your time on the restricted. It's almost irrelevant to motorcycling and doesn't enhance your skills much, but it's a means to an end. Contact the AA re doing a course.

    It's 3 months if you are over 25, because the time is then reduced to 6 months total.

    What I meant was, you can complete the DD course after 3 mths on your restricted if you are over 25, to reduce your restricted to 6 mths. So total time learners -> full (if you are over 25) is 12 months, correct me if I'm wrong?

    Minimums (by shortening 6R time with DD course) are:

    Over 25 - 9 months (6 on L and 3 on R). I did my learners -> full in 9 months 2 days.

    Under 25 - 12 months (6 on L, 6 on R).

    Check with Passrite driving academy/school. I did a couple of day courses there and went from learners to full in about 4 months.
