    New camera

Well I've gone and blown the years grocery budget on a new camera... EOS400d..

Of course I want to play with it straight away (lots of buttons to push )

I'll be at Harrisville Saturday and Patetonga Sunday, who's up for a bit of snap, snap, grin, grin? I'll be the wally with the puzzled look, staring at the shiny black brick, wearing a "dirt division" tee.... All I ask is for something "SPECTACULAR" Good or bad, your call.......

Nice buy, AI-Servo works good, though I prefocus on the ground where I'll start tracking to help it along, the metering is kinda dodgey for bikes & rugby so I use manual all the time, I only ever use center focus point because it's the most reliable, though makes framing "fun".
The 70-200/4 GR81 mentioned get's rave reviews, I've got a 170-500 & the reach comes in handy, Sigma just announced a 150-500 which if it's good I think would be a great lens ( I don't like the 100-400IS, to much copy variation & got a mate who's one is softer than my 170-500 & focused no faster ).
The camera grip is well worth the money, makes it heaps easier to hold onto.
    Enjoy

    Who's a naughty boy then.
I bought Nicky one of those with the 2 lens kit for Xmas, Phil
    She's a bloody menace now.
Got to keep an eye out for her with the camera, every time I'm doing anything that could be even vaguely misconstrued as embarrassing
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.

the kit lense is rubbish, throw it to a small child and let them marvel at it.

then buy the 17-85 and you'll have a good starting kit.

    then get a something-300 imagestabilized

then a 10-22 (fuck i love that fisheye)

It captured the image that won me a $2000 prize and have subsequently sold for a very attractive fee.
