its all good to laugh about until you get taken to court for unfair dissmissal.

my father is an employer and let me tell you, employees can take you to court and screw you real bad for the smallest slip up. Me and old boy have seen it happen to small businesses first hand (not his).

It realy shits me sometimes to see people fuck around, quit and then find a loop hole in the law to say something like they were pressured into leaving when all they did was fuck around and leave.

If you do it properly there will not be any comeback, unfortunately most people have no idea of the correct procedure for dismissing someone and thats where the problems happen

You should have a disciplinary procedure set out in any employment contract, this should also give examples of what is considered serious misconduct and minor misconduct

Any meetings held with the employee/employer should be documented and both parties should also have a witness present and in the case of a smaller business it would be sensible to get legal advice

tis the one thing that really gets on my goat. You have an employee who is a lazy son of a gun. Repeatedly drives in the car park way faster than he should, always late, drives the forks like a demon suddenly gets a back ache ...and what do we have to do. BLOODY HELL !!!!!

Oh my you poor young fella...life dont quite work that way! What the hell happened to working for a living? If you dont like it ----->>>>> life is that way. Maybe you shouldnt have had the 3 kids you cant afford to 3 diff women.

3 written warnings, verbal warnings?? cant remember, ive been in the same job for 10 years now (since I left school). The guy that prompted the written warnings is now lower down the ladder of command than me and it would be rude if I didnt make life difficult for him once in a while. What goes around comes around!!

I knew I had peaked in life when my boss at the freezing-works (food processing plant in todays p.c.world) said "You can't be the biggest f....ng clown in the bloody circus ALL the time" - what did he know!!
Then he went to the union delegate and told him "I don't know what to do with that Scumdog, he's nothing but a problem child" oh yeah! woohoo!
Such praise! THEN he nearly flipped when I said "can I have it in writing, I need it for my testimonial"

1 verbal, two written. Not exceeding 12 months for the same
*offense*. After 12 months the verbal and written warnings disolve....
and it all starts again -

Unless of course they are immediate dismissal issues

Apparently I'm a "ring leader of clowns"

As anyone else had an amusing written warning?
The one that I never got, along with a lack of verbal warnings. Ended up with 8 and a half grand from a PG over the sacking

If you deserved the pay out - then ok.

If you didn't deserve it and you are just an opportunist former employee, then
good for you.....NOT - I hope you invested your winnings well -

The existing employee's at your former place of work have got you to thank now, for their lack of any pay rise over the next 12 months while your organisation recoups an 8 grand loss.

Hey! somebody worse than me at that!! Never had a notice about it yet - but then I don't look in my pigeon-hole as much as I should either.

I had a boss express her displease about "my attitude" at a job I had a couple o years ago. My contract had run out, and I was asking for a $2/hr pay raise on my new one. She didn't like it and threatened to replace me with a temp worker (which would have cost more per hour than I was asking for, and they wouldn't have known jack shit) so I told ger "Go for it". She never did follow through with that threat.

But the average person would not have. Originally I had not intended to do anything about it and walk away from the job. I had so many people say otherwise and even had a lawyer come around when I was applying at the dole cue. Made for a good deposit on my first house. Oh and the company did never recover from that and went bung
