    good on you
my advice stay away from the Scorpio you will out grow it way too fast try a 250 rather than the 150 too but if its what you are comfortable on go for it!

yeah, well, I kind of feel better starting off on something a little less grunty and being 225cc i probably wouldnt grow out of it as fast as the 150... i like to take things slowly... and if it's affordable, i won't feel too bad selling and moving up soon after if I really want to

I don't know, if you'd seen one of the guys on a KR150 go around the Corromandel on Saturday, he wasn't at the back with the GN or VTRs, he was right up the front with the more powerful 250s!

    Scorpio vs RGV, some thoughts.

There may not be too much difference in power between the RGV and the Scorpio. I used to have a KR150 (similar to RGV, but a bit gruntier) and upgraded to the Sherpa (similar engine to the Scorpio, but a bit gruntier), and I don't think there would be much difference in peak power/top speed between them, if anything, the KR might be a bit more powerful.

But the power delivery between the two bikes is incredibly different, the KR was very sedate, unless you wrung it's neck, and the sherpa just keeps delivering similar amounts of power, no matter what you are doing.

I decided that neck-wringing wasn't really my style, and felt I had 'outgrown' the KR. The sherpa doesn't have any more power, but it's more my riding style, and I'm really happy with it.

So, IMHO, the choice between the RGV and Scorpio would probably come down to individual riding style, rather than which bike was more powerful.

oh yeah, don't get me wrong.. that's what i'm basing it on more than power really... at the moment I think the more upright scorpio would be better for me but then again, i really have to test them out.

Try your luck finding a vt(spada) or vtr250. The bike that Mat had before he wrote it off. It's very learner friendly, better riding position than Scott's and it will last you until you get your full.
