Occasionally, when I have nailed it out of a corner in first or second I have had it bouncing off either the rev limited or valve bouncing. Obviously I wasn't paying attention to the tacho so I not postive what rmp I was doing, and I'm not keen to test it on purpose.

I was wondering if it does have a rev limiter?

I guess the rpm was about 21000, but I'm not 100% certain.

i've decided to "street-fighter" my zxr for the short-medium term until i can be bothered financing full fairing respray etc.

i will be dropping into atomic on thursday (payday) for indicators and mirrors, then all it will need is a chain, a key for the tank and seat, carb service, VIN/REGO/WOF.... nearly there

    Limited

Hi guys, im new here, also new to owning a bike with gears, suppose my streetmagic didn't really count as a bike !
Anyway, from my understanding these bikes are limited to the same speed as any jap car (185) unless you have a deristrictor as I do on mine.
I haven't gone anywhere near this and don't really intend to either, but it just looks like the little white box and it changes the signal from the speedo when in top gear.

I got about 170 km/h out of one at Manfield (indicated) but I'm pretty fat and I was missing most of the fairings. That's a standard 'A' model, 'cept for the pipe.

The 'c' models are a bit slower, I've heard.

I got the Team MILF ZXR250 up to 180down the back straight of Puke without hitting the limiter.

Here are the results from the last 1/4 mile sprints.

    http://www.cdd.co.nz/sprint/EastWest...ltsNov2005.htm

The ZXR250 was hitting the speed limiter so couldn't get max revs. The CBR250 wasn't been ridden to redline as its done 153000kms! but still managed reasonable times.

Doesn't the 'C' model ZXR have a few more hp than the 'A' model?

wow didnt think think our speeds were that close. Time for a few mods i think. Would have been good if they posted the standing 1/4 times aswell.

If I remember correctly (don't quote me though ) the 1992 and after models were restricted by HP somehow.

93 on, derestriction involves a trip on the speedo ON BOTH THE ZXR AND CBR.

I'd like to run the standing quarter myself, I am abit warey of the validity of that comparision on that site of the CBR/ZXR

I've taken mine up to 170kph on that last ride I went on up to Wellsford... Don't know if I could have pushed it further, but found by the time I got to 170 it was time to slow down for thw twisties...
