while we're on the subject of kwaka's, which is faster, the zzr250 or the gpx250? i know they have the same engine, but there are a fair few design differences, so yeah, does anyone know?

I was under the impression the zzr was heavier, but more powerful (relatively hehehehe)

Tippity top speed is 160 for a zzr250. That was slightly downhill too...

    err... On a racetrack

you tell me for a gpx... for acceleration, I would have no idea

I've only taken my ZXR to 180kph but it still had a bit more punch left - I would have known is true top speed if not for the shit weather today on the way to Puke

Dyno'd to 204, off the clock at 190, shift into 6th and it still goes a bit more... who knows. I should put my push bike speedo on it and calibrate it and really see what it can do...

Borrow a handheld gps unit that will give an accurate speed reading - but beware that you will be dissapointed with the results because the speedos are rounder uppish. My old zxr 250 maxed out at 173km by gps and that was off the clock.

Agree with the Dyno readout for the back wheel, I've also had the same result.
The actual speed on the road, I think you'll struggle to get to that especially with drag and everything, not to mention the speedo governor.

I was very impressed with the accuracy of the CBR s speedo...it was pretty much the same as the quarter mile times. Mind you the speedo cable is run off the front sprocket of the cbr.
Next time I think I'll run it to redline in 5th then change to 6th - with a bit of tail wind that may push into the 190km/hrs
