2008 Hayabusa Mods

Thought I'd better start a thread for the stuff we're doing to the '08 Busa. It's just easier if we keep everything in one place!

We have already:

• Made a tank bra
• Fitted the rear hugger (from its predecessor)
• Modified and fitted the pack rack (also from its predecessor)
• Made and fitted a fender eliminator
• Made a Rider custom seat (rider and pillion)
• Received the Yoshi 4-into-1 race system R-77, which is made specifically for the '08 Busa
• Received the Power Commander (full custom map).

Mods still remaining:

• GPS mod
• 3M stone guard
• Frame sliders

Here is the stock bike with only the tank bra, no other mods.

We didn't like the spade on the rear of the bike so removed it. This was a simple mod and only required us to make a steel bracket in an "L" shape. This holds onto the bike via two bolts and has two holes in it to hold the number plate on.

It's a rather simple mod but has drastically improved how the rear looks.

Well, we can't own a brand like Rider and not have one on our own bikes now can we?

Because we've got a tank bra and this will be embroidered (in the future), we decided to put a plain seat on the bike. This uses carbon fibre looking vinyl to stick with the theme of the Yoshi pipe and what's in the tank bra.

Simple and classy. Just like us

This system only arrived this morning so have got as far as unpacking it from the box. It looks DAMN nice and we're chomping at the bit to fit it. The plan is to dyno the bike before and after fitting the pipe and Power Commander to see what the difference in HP will be. We're also intending to weigh the stock pipes to see how much weight we're going to save.

These pipes won't go on until the guy who's dynoing the bike is back from holiday. It will be interesting to see what she can do!

We just got the bike back from having the pipe fitted. Looks pretty good and has definitely given it that nice throaty sound. Losing the stock pipes has lightened the bike by a whopping 21 KG

Cheers for that! The first thing Cajun did was look at the pipe I said "bugger that" and had to start the bike!
Looking forward to riding it to see what it sounds like under acceleration now
