    Ask a question!

I went to the MNZ site, then www.nzsbk.co.nz to see if there were any answers. Then I e-mailed Jim Tuckerman at media@nzsbk.co.nz Jim I believe is the Road Race media liaison person for MNZ and arranged the TV coverage.

    "Hi Jim
Could you please advise coverage of the Nat RR on TV
On Sunday we only saw the 600 and S/Bike classes.
When will Streetstock, 125GP, F3 / Pro-Twin and Sidecars be shown?
    Thanks
    Regards
    Peter Jones

PS There is a quite a good forum discussion at www.kiwibiker.co.nz.
It would be best to post a reply there so people are aware."

    His reply, very promptly

"Thanks for your email, as soon as I have broadcast dates for the other programme I will advise"

    I replied
"Most importantly, pls confirm that the classes listed will see coverage"

    No reply since

Just a note, re Streetstock. (not a championship class) Paul Stewart announced to a large meeting of the class a few months ago that their race(s) will be screened on TV. We had a major class sponsor and carried their stickers prominently. Kiwi Rider a big thanks!

Can we have a torrent of this Sunday's coverage please.
I was at Paeroa and wife forgot to (didn't) record.
"...New Zealanders, for all their faults, have virtues that are precious: an unwillingness to be intimidated by the new, the formidable, or class systems; trust in situations where there would otherwise be none; compassion for the underdog; a sense of responsibility for people in difficulty; not undertaking to do something without seeing it through - "

Personally I'd like to see the return of prize money especially to some of the smaller classes.

They will have to put prize money in because it takes a bit of money to go racing and to do a season of superbikes it costs about $30500. if there is no money guys can't afford to race and they will get more people with prize money.

The prize money that used to be piss all so it doesn't really make any difference to being able to afford to race

Not sure if there was anything more detailed anywhere.
This is listed further down on the site!

There have been many comments about only the big boys getting on TV, well get those bikes tidied up put some work into sponsors and comb those locks as you will now be able to have your hour of glory.

Another first for 2008 will be that with the sponsorship funding we have been able to secure we will be able to arrange for all class’s of the championships to be televised. We anticipate being able to have around 16 to 20 commercial hours of homegrown New Zealand motorcycle racing on TV.

During the winter Brian Bernard has been working away on a add on promotion to the days race programme it will be a competition to win a pillion ride on race day aboard a special purpose built Bernard Racing Super bike at lunchtime.

His contact is listed as this.
    Paul Stewart.
Road Race Commissioner and The Boss

Maybe some emails to him might get a response, especially from the racers waiting for the coverage!
