    Aggravated robbery.

My 10year old son and his mate were playing at local park on Sunday when 7 teenage kids came up and demanded they hand over everything they had on them or they would get a beating from them with an iron bar and some handlebars off of a pushbike.I have called police and they said come in and make a statement,as its aggravated robbery.
NOW IF I DO THIS -WHAT HAPPENS?

Do they get charged and dealt with or do they get let off and deal out some retaliation- like bricks through our windows or worse.

    There identities are known.

These kids are causing a lot of trouble in the neighbourhood and its getting worse.I have had a run in with them myself in the last week. But then im not a 10yr old that cant fight back, they ran real quick when i wouldnt back down.
So what would you do in this situation,go to the police and lay a charge or just let it slide and hope it doesnt happen again?

Break their necks & hide the evidence .

2nd choice would be to call in the police

well if you let them get away with it, they'll think they can (and they are) and will just keep on going their merry way.

If the kids are 16 or over, definitely cops.
In fact do it anyway, they will come to the attention of the cops and maybe learn something. If they don't then Karma will catch up.
Do not dish out any 'natural justice', unless you are threatened directly, then you have the right to defend yourself. But normally you will end up in far more crap than they do.
    Best of luck

Psh I got mugged right outside a cop station a few years back and the cops didn't do a thing, although I'm sure there must've been cameras around cause it was by a train station and all too.

But I guess if you actually know these kids then you could get some good outta it. And then patrol the streets with a few bikers one night and give them a scare .

shoot first , ask questions afterwards.
As I understand it ,if you are defending yourself or someone else then you can use reasonable force, what is reasonable will be determined @ a later date in a courtroom.
Do not get caught up in P.C. bullshit about what you can do or their rights, they have no regard for your rights so why should you give a rats arse about theirs ?

The trouble is most of them have been in trouble before stealing -drugs-assaults and they dont care-one has just been released recently from local bad boy home. ages range from 14 to 18.

If you know who they are then visit there cave and explain there actions to there parents,if its an obvious case of in-breeding then head butt the old man and all will be sorted, the cops hands are tied really. if there under age the tree huggers have made any learning skills impossible to enforce. As i say deal to the biggest fuck up in the tribe and he will bring the rest in to line, just like the jungle really

Damn right get the cops involved, the coonsequences are meager enough without failing to apply them.

You might get some retaliation, great, ping the bastards again. If they aren't going to learn lets have them in pokey sooner rather than later.

    Always sweat the small stuff.

    +1 Cops should be called.

Glad your son and his mate are OK.

Put it this way. If you had a 14 year old daughter, what would they have done if they had caught her? Maybe someone elses daughter could be next?

Most crims start small and move on to the bigger stuff. Broken windows and all that.
