    I've never got 5,000km out of a rear tyre on any of my dual purpose bikes.Worn in one spot will be a wheel balance or suspension issue.That tyre will still pass a WoF by the way.

    To me it looks like over inflation? I have done over 8000k since I have had my Pirelli tyres, and they still look as good as when I started....

    5 to 6k was maximum for my XT600 too. went thru 7 tyres in 40000km's. My BMW R1100GS gets 10-13k from a rear.
