    Bent Sub-Frame

Hi guys. Out on a ride today (it was great) when I had to do an emergency stop to avoid hitting the car in front of me who had just done the same. My mate was following behind and didnt react quickly enough. Result - Muffler bent up, and the piece its bolted to [where the pillion peg sits] is bolted to the subframe. It bent it up and stress cracked a weld. Just wanting to know if insurance will write it off or not? Attached is a before pic just so you know what im talking about. Thanks

get your mate to repair it or pay for the repair.

When insurance companys replace items they replace with genuine brand new parts, figure out what the cost of everything that is damaged (Price A), subtract from the market value of the bike (Price B), and if A is more than B the will right it off.

Drop in to your local suzuki dealler and they should be able to give you an idea on the replacement cost of the broken/bent parts and the market value of the bike.

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

And seeing as (from memory) where the weld broke is part of the frame (not subframe) it'll be the cost of a replacement frame + removal and refitting of all pieces

If you're going to insurance it dont you have to inform them asap?
