I fail to see how a mother dressing up her children has any bearing on the so called reduction of their child hood. There is a hell of a lot more to parenting than just dressing them up. Take a look at the photo and tell me this is a bad mother.

It's the era of "preteens" 8-12 year olds are taking over. Mind you they are THE MOST TARGETED group mainly in UK and US.

By the time they reach 8 they are past it anyway .... unless you can dress them up to look 6.

I agree with Barbender, pedophillia and rape aren't anything to do with dress standards, they are - to my understanding - more about power and control, and acting out on thinking that most people can't relate to and thus don't understand.

Blaming parents or society excuses bad behaviour that is directly attributable to sick individuals, and leaves others with the thinking that if we change, people who do those things will change, which is just not true.

I'm not sure how I feel about young girls wearing make-up and high heels (fence-sitter). I'm trying to raise my sons to take responsibility for their own actions, so - hopefully - they will never end up blaming someone else for their own mistakes.

Boys and men have to tread very carefully in this society - it's not really fair, but it is the way it is. The more makeup and less clothes a young woman is wearing, the more care they need to take. The time will come when men will take back their power. It's happening already And the funny thing is, women have more respect for men when they do that anyway.

The point is one of perception. The photo I supplied with my post was that of a mother and child dressed in their culture. Believe it or not we too have a culture..........it's called fashion and changes from year to year. Now here comes the interesting part what is the object of fashion.............its purpose so to speak. some not all men believe that woman dress to look sexy, attractive, call it what you will for them. That's a generalisation OK but we are bombarded with the culture of fashion and how the purpose of this is too look attractive for the opposite sex. They see children dressed in the fashion of adults and believe that this is the purpose of the mother........to display their child as attractive to the opposite sex.

But many woman dress for themselves. They dress to look good for no other reason than that. So if a mother dresses her child up in the manner that she belives looks good for her how does that make her a bad mother?

You dodged my point AND overstated the pedophilia risk. They're more at risk from a family member than a random person in a crowd. I've also yet to meet an "innocent" 13 year old girl, unless it is one who hasn't started ovulating yet.

Paedophiles dont just come stock standard adult size wearing raincoats. The ones you need to watch out for are those aged as young 5 to 18, related and as has been mentioned...known to the victim.

in saying that im 20 and fulli encourage girls my age to show a bit of skin haha
