Up the Villa ,Oh and Barnet.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have you found? The same old fears.

Woo, calm down son. 1 (lost) CL final in 100 years of football and suddenly you think your good enough.
You can still end up with the same amount of silverware you got last season.

Can a moderater please move Drunken Monkey's reply to the jokes thread.

Arsenal? As in Arse and all?

Yeah there are quite a few blokes on KB that seem comfortable using the back passage as well as more conventional entry points

Could never quite figure out why anyone supports English roundball
The teams are owned by foreigners
The players are from all over the place
The jerseys are changed twice a year

...what is it you are actually supporting?

I know, aint it wierd. I support Aston Villa ,have done all my life but I don't think there is one player with any conection to the city of Birmingham, very few are English, It's run by an irishman, etc etc.

It's not like thier a bunch of Birmingham boys against the world like it once was. The club is based in the city but that's about it, how strange.

Is there an English player in Arsenal? oh yea that supper li'll fella wassisname.

Good question, I have no answer,I'm just programed. up the villa. see.!
    Oh bugger

In most cases, your local club. I grew up in Chelsea and have had a season ticket there for the last 30 or so years (I still have it and will be using it next month when I'm over there).

I hear what you're saying about foreign influence in all countries club football but this does actually make for a far more entertaining game, IMO.

Go to a big game with big rivalry, say Chelsea v Spurs, Man U v Man City, Liverpool v Everton, Barcelona V Real Madrid - I promise you will never experience an atmosphere like it any where else.

Football is the most played and watched sport in the world (excluding NZ, Aussie and some of the US) - the recent Rugby World Cup final attracted around 60 million viewers world wide. Last year's English club (FA Cup) final (Chelsea v Man U) attracted over half a billion viewers world wide.

If you have to ask then I doubt you'd understand the answer.

    How is it local?

The only thing that is different between all the clubs is the name, at that is likely to be owned by a Yank or a Russian.

Sorry Ewan - you a clinging to a past that no longer exists.

I can understand supporting heritage and a fine history of local talent achieving greatness, but why support one homogenous team over the other? The "brands" are no different from one another any more

I was born in Chelsea. Grew up in Chelsea. Lived a couple of hundred metres from Chelsea Football Club. Hence Chelsea was my local club and that's where I went to watch my footie.

Yeah, most hardcore fans don't like the fact that their clubs are being bought by rich foreign business men but they ain't never going to stop supporting their clubs. It's in your blood.

Mate, I'd have to agree with Puppet Master. If you don't know now then you never will. There is nothing here to compare to so it's difficult.

So, it's like religion - no matter how baseless and contradictory it looks, I should just have faith?
