    New to forum (JasonEdward)

    Hi people,

I live in Auckland and have just bought a 1991 VX800 after 20 years without a bike but the occasional ride on friends' bikes keeping me interested.

Only had 2 bikes, first an old twin shock type XL250 (S??) last bike a RD350LC, in fact the first one off the production line serial no. 0000000001 - wish I'd kept it. Might be a collectors item now.

As for the VX, I think Middle Age Crisis and shifting in to stay with CagivaGirl (friend only in case anyone gets the wrong idea - she is a very cool chick though, I must say, and easy on the eye) got me fired up to get another bike, and a little looking around convinced me the old VX was the one for my modest budget. And I love the torque but raw power/high speed has little interest for me.

I saw it, rode it, liked it and bought it. Sad more engines of this type aren't used in anything but Harley look-alikes that I have no interest in.

But I am looking forward to Roger helping me solve the low speed un-nerving handling...

So it's all good and a sincere thanks to Roger - he is a testament to the generosity of people in forums like this.

All the best to all of you and keep on dodging the cars. I picked up the bike and 10 minutes later a car pulled out straight in front of me. Had I been doing 70 k's instead of 60 it may have been a situation...

    Cheers

    Welcome

to the nut house, they are all mad as fish but sound as.

    Happy riding and stay safe.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have you found? The same old fears.
    Wish you were here. QWQ

Welcome and say "Gidday" to CagivaGirl! Always look forward to her column in BRM!

I think you'll find the VX a great bike with the suspension properly sorted!
You don't get to be an old dog without learning a few tricks.
Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!
