    Talking Curse Of The Bismarck

Ok this is story to make you feel better about yourself from other people's misfortunes :sly:

On day in early August I decided that I want a nice 1/350th model of the Bismarck (famous wwii battleship for those who don't know). So I go to the model shop and ask them if they had one, no they didn't but they'd be more then glad to order one in. Ok fair enough, the dude said it should take a month for the next shipment to come in, ok I can wait a month.

One month later..........."Got my Bismarck?"........."ummmmmmmm no..."
ok? what's going on here, the man behind the counter then proceeded to tell me that the ship wouldn't be in till December........Dude, WTF!!?

So anyway I leave with a 1/160th Cutty Sark for the time being (but that too needs replacement bits at the moment ).

over the next few months I am preparing for my exams, so the matter goes to the back of mt head.

Last week I went to the model shop so I could get some paints for my Sark, the dude behind the counter then tells me that the christmas shipment is in next week........ok, mint.

Go in there yesterday....."So, is my Bismarck in?"......."ummmmmmmm no"........DIE!........"but we can get you a Tamiya one for $105". Now see the Bismarck I had wanted was the same scale but only $60, but the Tamiya one is quite abit better, though my skills might not be upto that standard.

I think about it in the shop and go "ok, I'll take the Tamiya one".......after 5mins of searching, he says it's not in the store!!!!!!!! arghhhhhhhh.
So he says he'll order one in from the stockist or whatever so it will be in tomorrow.

Now this bit is the best part, Get a phone call 30mins ago, dude from the model shop "um yea, your not gonna belive this, but we ordered the wrong model".......he then went on how he must of put the wrong number in somewhere because they have a 1/350th Yamato (another wwii battleship) sitting there instead of my Bismarck

So he says it should be in tomorrow.........What's the Bet it's a Tirpitz or a Yorktown ?

Sorry this story is long and somewhat quite boring, but I felt I had to tell it :sly:

Ace hobbys AKA Kangs at highpoint, it's a good shop generally, but this Bismarck issue is getting on my tits, i mean how hard could it be to get your hands on a 1/350th Bismarck?

Presumably a 1/350th replica BEFORE it was sunk?

I'd imagine they're not easy to shrink. I mean, it was hard enough to sink the thing...

I never really shop in Kangs Hobby again ever since somebody jammed a screwdriver into my Blade ignition 4 years ago........
But that has also happened in city central (in front of library), and again in Waikato Uni.

Bleh....In total, I have lost 2 ignition barrels and 2 disclocks (totally stripped). The one that never failed was my Abus chainlock (that I lost during my last big crash....couldn't find it anywhere)

    It's okay...

I think I have been through this before. But when it happened to me it was a small rubber thingy that was going on my bike somewhere.

no way, they secretly sailed it into the Batcave in the middle of the night, and Osama bin Laden used the Wonka-Vision set to beam it 1/350 scale into the local Cash Converters, where I bought it for 5 sickles and a string of beads. That's why you can't find it.
